After a four-hour drive, we arrived at Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, VA. Once again, I managed to pick an very sloped site, both front to back and side to side. I leveled it as best I could with the leveling blocks and decided to let it go, since I’d only be there for two days. First order of business, after getting settled in and plugged in, was to take a shower in the conveniently located bathhouse — my first in five days, since it had been so cold and windy at Oregon Inlet, and the showers there were unheated and exposed to the outside.
Monday, my first full day at Pocahontas, I decided to try moving my van around to see if I could find a more level spot. I had nothing else to do all day, and figured if I took it slowly and carefully I could try a few different parking spots. I tried: parallel to my original spot but over behind the tent pad; on the tent pad; sideways across the back of the site. None were much more level and all were troublesome in other ways: too far from the electric hookup, or just felt weird. Exhausted myself and slightly scraped the rear passenger side of the van and broke the exterior outlet cover off against the side of the flagpole, as I was trying to maneuver between it and the fire ring. Ended up moving back to where I started. Covered the exterior outlets with Gorilla tape to protect them from the weather and called it good.
The weather was getting cold — in the mid-30s at night — but my propane furnace kept me warm enough, along with using my robe as an extra blanket and having a warm kitty to cuddle up with.

Tuesday was another quiet day at the park. I took a walk around my loop, which was mostly empty of other campers. The weather was cool but pleasant. It was a very pretty park, and I enjoyed just hanging around.

Near the bathhouse and the camp host site was a circle of stones with a bunch of painted rocks inside it. No idea who painted them or put them there, but it was a charming little decoration.
Ran out of my second refill of Winegard data watching FB reels and videos and decided to get by on phone data for the rest of the trip. All in all, a quiet and pleasant stay.
Wednesday I got up early, took a shower, packed up and headed out for my final stop of the trip.
